The Birchmere is such a great venue for any performance, providing an intimate setting to see your favorite artists. Rick Springfield, performing his solo acoustic set of his classic hits of the 80s was no exception. At the ripe old age of 73, he still has the vocal chops and mastery of the guitar at his disposal, and pleased the crowd for 2 hours with storytelling and playing songs we all crank up in our cars to this day…”Jessie’s Girl” “Love Somebody” “Affair of the Heart” and more. Zero complaints for the price of a ticket and show. The food at the Birchmere is actually pretty darn good, and priced fairly, however, paying $9.50 for a Miller Lite is ridiculous. They could also space out the tables a bit further from each other. Every time someone got up, it was a painful experience trying to get them in and out with the chairs being so tight.
